Join author Mia Siegert and Scholastic editor Mallory Kass as they discuss the making of THE NAMES WE BURIED—Siegert’s YA thriller based on the cult classic THE FACE ON THE MILK CARTON, with a trans twist; moderated by literary agent Sera Rivers. The recording will be sent out after the event.
All registrants will be ENTERED TO WIN a copy of THE NAMES WE BURIED (release date June 2). Two winners will be chosen. You do not need to be present to win.
Mia Siegert (all pronouns) is an author, costume designer, and screenwriter known for raw, gritty prose; their books include Jerkbait, Somebody Told Me (the first traditionally published YA novel with a bigender protagonist), and The Names We Buried (forthcoming June 2026). As a costume designer, they’ve worked on Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, the CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and stage productions of CATS.
Mallory Kass (she/her) is an Executive Editor at Scholastic where she works on middle grade and YA fiction. She’s also the author of Save the Date and The 100 (as Kass Morgan), the New York Times bestseller that inspired the critically acclaimed television show.
Sera Rivers (she/her) is Speilburg Literary’s Creative Talent and Inclusive Storytelling agent, an AALA member, and a writer. She represents books in the children’s and adult markets.

Join authors Aya Khalil, Delia Ruiz, and author-illustrator Andrea Campos to learn about the art of writing board books. Moderated by literary agent, Sera Rivers, this panel will discuss their creative process and share tips on how to write tales for the youngest age group. The recording will be sent to all registrants after the event, and all registrants will be ENTERED TO WIN a board book from each of the presenters (1 winner).
Andrea Campos is a color-obsessed visual artist and New York Times bestselling illustrator who loves encouraging play in people’s lives. Her playful style has led her to work on a variety of projects, including marketing campaigns, books, toys, and most notably a bilingual children’s book co-authored by Jennifer Lopez and Jimmy Fallon. When she’s not working on her next book or designing colorful prodcuts, you can find Andrea speaking at events and conferences: inspiring both kids and adults alike to follow their dreams.
Aya Khalil holds a master’s degree in Education and is an award-winning author of picture books and board books. Her titles include The Night Before Eid, The Arabic Quilt, and A Party of Colors. Aya’s books have won numerous awards and honors including The Arab American Book Award and NCTE’s Charlotte Huck Award.
Delia Ruiz is a first generation Latinx children’s book author from San Antonio, Texas. Her board book Moon Chef will be released on May 5, 2026. She received her master’s degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). She currently resides in Puerto Rico with her husband, baby, and pug.
